  IACHR LAUDS BOLIVIA’S RATIFICATION OF THE ADDITIONAL PROTOCOL TO THE AMERICAN CONVENTION ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE AREA OF ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS  

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) lauds the ratification of the Additional Protocol to the American Convention on Human Rights in the Area of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights by the Republic of Bolivia. The ratification of human rights instruments is an essential step toward the protection of the inhabitants of the hemisphere.  

In this regard, the IACHR expresses its recognition and satisfaction over yesterday’s ratification by Bolivia, which represents a significant step toward universal adherence to the inter-American system and provides that country with a new instrument for the protection of economic social and cultural rights.
