IACHR urges the FARC to free Corporal José Norberto Pérez

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) has learned of the situation of Andrés Felipe Pérez, a boy in the Republic of Colombia.  According to various sources, Andrés Felipe Pérez has a very advanced stage of cancer.

The IACHR has also been informed that the boy’s father, Police Corporal José Norberto Pérez, has been held by the armed dissident group known as the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) since March 17 of this year, when the FARC took over the Police Station in Santa Cecilia, in the District of Risaralda.

For humanitarian reasons, the IACHR urges the FARC to free Corporal José Norberto Pérez, so that Andrés Felipe Pérez and his father may be together under these painful circumstances.
